Stockholm ranked a flattering number three in terms of delegate numbers in the 2010 International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA) ratings. The ranking is based on the number of delegates participating in international business meetings at different destinations across the world.
ICCA is a global meetings industry network. Their rating of meeting destinations with the most delegates during 2010 was topped by Barcelona with 133,830 delegates followed by Vienna with 87,345 delegates and Stockholm with 76,584 delegates.
This means that the economic impact of tourism generated by business meetings has never been better for Stockholm than in 2010. 89 international business meetings attended by nearly 76,584 people were held in the city. In total, international delegates spent around 435,000 conference days valued at just over SEK 2.2 billion in Stockholm during 2010.
